How to Deliver a Memorable Experience at your next Exhibition

Exhibitions are about engagement and connecting with people. For most people it’s a great way to do business, you will always get those who are just there to get out the office and try and collect as many freebies as possible, but for a large percentage they attend because they have a particular need that needs to be fulfilled.

Exhibitions can be an overwhelming place with hundreds of stands and thousands of people, which is why it’s important that after the aisles have been walked and stand’s visited, it’s your stand that sticks in people's mind.

Maya Angelou the poet and author once said “people will forget the things you say, they will forget the things you do, but they will never forget how you made them feel”. This is never truer as in relation to exhibitions.  Being attractive to the eye is key, the use of large images and bright colours are a must. The use of technology on stands is now becoming very important when in engaging with visitors, using large-scale screens to run movies or showreels is a good way to communicate your message, humans are naturally drawn towards moving images.

The use of games is a fun way to interact with people, along with a way to retain people on the stand and create a real buzz at the show. These interactive games, in turn, will then make your stand stick in people’s minds when they are back at the office wading through mountains of bags and brochures.

Utilising items like tablet’s and tablet holders can be a simple way for people to fill out surveys and capture people’s data. Getting your message across to people in an easy, quick and concise way is key to etching your company into people’s memory.

Making sure that staff manning the stand are smart, attentive and friendly is of utmost importance, they are representatives of your brand and its key for them to build a connection.

Most of all exhibitions should be fun! If you portray a real human side to your business through your exhibition stand, it’ll be you that people remember.

5 reasons why you should go modular

Below is a list of 5 reasons why you should choose to go modular –

Zero Wastage
All of our custom modular stand solutions are 100% completely re-usable. This makes modular stands very green and great for the environment. After recently building a stand our client asked us what materials she needed to put on her wastage breakdown form, we replied with "Zero".

Flexible
Our range of custom modular exhibition systems can be shaped and re-shaped so they fit into any stand space you book.

Stylish
Gone are the days where modular equals boring square shapes, with our custom modular solution we can create beautiful eye catching curves, that will fool anyone into thinking that your stand is in fact a purpose built stand.

Economical
All our custom modular solutions are re-useable and without requiring you to purchase any new graphics. This makes the on-going costs really stack up against you old school purpose built MDF solutions.

Practical
We pre-build all our custom modular exhibition stand solutions at our show room in Leigh On Sea. This gives all our clients complete piece of mind before show day that their stand will be 100% ready on time. Seeing your stand in its full glory before show day, also allows for some pre-show marketing, showing visitors what they can expect to see, when they visit your stand.

If you would like more information on how our custom modular exhibition system can help your exhibition campaign, then please either visit our website - www.gdisplay.co.uk or call us on 01702 662111

Aircharge™ Exhibition Counters

You’ve all seen the advert of Rita Ora in the studio with her phone low on battery, when suddenly she magically gets 20% more charge on her phone after just one refrain of a chorus. Now while we can’t promise that sort of charge power, we can promise that our exhibition counters can now be fully equipped with the latest in mobile charging technology.

Forget about charge stations with wires, plug sockets and crowds of staff and visitors trying to get their phones juiced up, our new Aircharge Counters can be fully integrated with multiple wireless phone chargers to maintain your stand’s sleek, modern appearance, whilst still providing a practical charge station solution.

Time waits for no man!

At Guardian Display, there is a reason we always describe our stand fitters as “dedicated.” On October 23rd, two of the GDisplay A-team set-off on a twenty-hour working day in order to give our clients an outstanding level of service.

After an eye-rubbing 5am start, the team were at The Royal Society to install a five-module Versaform Flex for Laing O’Rourke at the Construction News Summit for 7am. After quickly and professionally completing their first task, they trawled through the London rush to install another Flex with a flooring system and 40” TV at Olympia for the Investor Show for our client London South East.

After taking a brief respite, the boys were back to The Royal Society to breakdown the stand at 4pm, and immediately took the stand to The Leadenhall Building for Laing O’Rourke’s evening event at 8pm. By 11pm it was time to breakdown the stand and finally head out of London and back to Essex after what had been a frantic, but ultimately rewarding day.

Making a Meal of It

The Square Meal show has become somewhat of an annual tradition for Guardian Display in recent years. The venue & events show at Old Billingsgate plays host to an all-star cast of some of the biggest players in the industry, and once again the G Display A-Team were on hand to dish out a feast of exhibition stands . Long-standing clients The IET and Searcy’s: The Gherkin were joined this year by Searcy’s: 30 Euston Square and Middle Temple Hall for what turned out to be a busy and exciting event.

The highlight of the show was undoubtedly The IET’s Versaform Build structure, which featured a colossal 75” television screen that delivered the focal point for their marketing campaign. The main promotion point of the stand was The IET’s thirty-million pound refurbishment of the famous Savoy Place, and their integrated television gave them an impactful tool to launch their brand-new corporate video. The video gave visitors a detailed CGI fly-through of the new building, which helped to build anticipation and interest in what is surely going to be one of the most exclusive venues in the country.

The IET reused 90% of the framework they already owned, and thus dramatically reduced their costs for this show. After investing into new graphics, Flux furniture, bespoke beams and other services, they spent just £15,000 and received a three and a half metre build that covered a 7x2m space. The stand was a huge success, and due to the IET’s investment into Versaform Build, they can spend their budget on polishing their sales strategies and refreshing their campaign each year, rather than wasting thousands on renting MDF walls and the extortionate labour costs associated with stand contractors.

Searcy’s: The Gherkin were also back at Square Meal reusing their framework and graphics, combining the Versaform Flex and Shell Clad displays that they already owned. The company’s previous successes lead to another Searcy’s company, 30 Euston Square investing into an identical system complete with TV screen, table attachment and brochure rack. If it isn’t broken, then why try and fix it? Not only does this give Searcy’s brand consistency at the show, the vibrant graphics and different colour schemes help to highlight the distinct benefits of each venue, whilst also providing them with an excellent combination of unity and individuality.

Finally, Middle Temple Hall completed the Versaform-themed show with a four-module Versaform Flex. Their simple, but eloquently designed graphics boasted the venue’s rich history and tradition, whilst the system provides them with complete functionality and flexibility so that they can use the stand at a variety of future events. The framework was delivered in a counter-conversion case complete with wooden table top to match the theme of the design, and a graphic wrap so that there was no need for any type of storage space.

Square Meal was once again a huge success for all involved, and the Guardian Display team are proud to consistently deliver high-quality products and services to anyone attending the show. We hope to be back again next year with even more venues getting the most out of their exhibition displays. JLT's Custom Modular Stand Solution

If anyone knows the definition of a good investment, then it is global insurance giant; JLT. The company turned over close to a billion pounds in 2013, and their successful economic philosophy allows every department to make wise investment decisions. JLT invested into the Versaform Build in 2011, spending £25,000 on framework and graphics, and only another £10,000 in re-installation and storage fees over the course of their 10 shows to date.

£35,000 may sound like a large investment, but let’s put it in perspective. The different reconfigurations of this exhibition stand have been used at 10 shows already, which have included NAPF, EB Connect and EB Live, as well as shows in London and Liverpool. These stand spaces have ranged from 3X2 shell schemes to a 5X4 space only.

That is a max total of £3,500 per show and that includes a reconfigurable and height adjustable custom modular exhibition stand with a gantry, framework, graphics, installation, storage, modular flooring system, a bespoke showcase, a shelving system and an integrated television screen. The average cost of a stand contract for a one-off bespoke build is anywhere up from £10,000, which means JLT have saved up to £65,000 over their ten shows, and will only save more money with the more shows they attend.

The sheer range of shapes and sizes that the Versaform Build is capable of is making bespoke builds obsolete and unnecessary. JLT can adjust their stand’s height from 2.4M to 4M and add in bespoke elements as they please. We can make modifications and adjustments without having to throw everything away and start again. The use of rigging, MDF walls, vinyl print and the labour costs associated with sub-contractors add up to an enormous amount- whether you are attending one show or one-hundred throughout the year. The risk of wasting money is even greater if something goes wrong during the build as there is no second chance. Our system allows us to pre-build the stand at our facility before installation, which means that any problems are dealt with before the show, meaning there are no nightmare scenarios on the day.

Our Versaform systems are built and designed to give our clients peace of mind, save them money and allow us to create high-quality, professional and impressive exhibition stands. To find out how we can provide you with the same quality service, contact us at info@gdisplay.co.uk or give us a call on 01702 662111.
