Laing O'Rourke Client Engagement

Laing O’Rourke invested into the Versaform Build system back in July 2013, and the latest incarnation of their stand has given their client engagement capabilities new depths.

Having already invested into the framework in July, Laing O’Rourke required us create new graphics and develop more bespoke requirements to fit into the system for the Nuclear Newbuild Conference at the ExCel. Having already integrated TV screens, iPad Displays, Pelmet lighting and Halo lighting into previous versions of the stand, we were fully prepared for the client’s latest idea.

They decided to use three sets of wireless headphones on their stand with incorporated stable hooks to place them on when they are not being used. These headphones connected wirelessly to the three televisions screens (another previous investment) and allowed for multi-client viewing of their new corporate video.

We have to admit that during pre-build we were all excited to try them out, and the Guardian Display team were queuing up to experience it. The three TV screens and clear, crisp sound from the headphones created an environment that blocked everything else out and made us focus only on the video. This was a genius idea and it will be a powerful marketing tool for Laing O’Rourke at their future exhibitions.

If that wasn’t enough to garner interest in the stand, we also provided the client with translucent acrylic graphic panels to sit in front of an acrylic light box which was contained within the walls of the system. This meant that the lighter colours became vastly illuminated, and the darker colours appeared more grounded against them. This colour and light contrast created graphic panels with enhanced visibility, which will attract more clients upon first glance at the stand.

Exhibitions are a phenomenal opportunity to gain new business leads, and when an exhibition stand is created with client engagement in mind, you will find that you have an influx of potential clients gathering around your stand. The more people you talk to, the more business leads you will generate, and you will build more client relationships as a result.

You only get one chance at a first impression, so you better make it a good one.
